What is Maryland VOAD?
Maryland VOAD is an umbrella organization of diverse disaster relief agencies that include faith-based groups, non-profits, governmental departments and agencies, and other non-governmental organizations. The purpose of Maryland VOAD is to bring together disaster relief and voluntary organizations to foster more effective response and recovery to the people of Maryland in times of disaster. This is accomplished through:
Cooperation, Coordination, Communication, Education and Outreach, Convening Mechanisms, and Mitigation
Maryland VOAD seeks to ensure the availability of needed services and to encourage uniform, impartial provision of these services. Maryland VOAD is not an operational entity, its member organizations share information and resources to improve the delivery of disaster relief services to those in need.
